My work is an absurd  construction of dialogue.  I stray from any narrative imposition in my work, but more importantly present a set of circumstances  to operate within.  My intention is to take the traditional, often figurative and romantic notions of beauty in painting and isolate them as separate materials within an experience.  These ideas wait to and from the quotidian in my work.  It is, for example, the illogical and absurd space between a really sensual oil painting, a concrete block and store bought tennis balls that I am currently interested in.

* Note on “text”

   The text element in my work puts the viewer in a position where they can become a part of the work.  The “reader" becomes the performer of a piece and therefore intertwined with the compositional elements provided.  This relationship also serves as the figurative element in these works.
